She's a pixie with dragonfly wings, hitching a ride on a dragonfly. I wanted the main focus to be on Pixie herself, so I omitted some detail on the dragonfly. Plus I have no clue how to even attempt texture and shading on something so microscopic.
You did a good job of downplaying the dragonfly and centering the focus of the image on the pixie. I think the colors were well chosen also as they work well and are a bit understated. The way you did (or didn't) do the lines in this pic is also a change from your norm and along with the downplayed colors it gives more emphasis on the shapes. The cell shading (as opposed to gradients) also works well in emphasizing the shapes. Plus I must say I like the direction you are going in in terms of the female form lately. It's cool to see you trying new stuff and I'm seeing some excellent results.

That's funny; I was just drawing from some dragonfly photos the other day. You can actually find some really cool up-close ones on google. [link][link] Anyway..
Awesome pixie! I really like the form and the hair, though I would like to see the hair have some more value range beyond the highlights. One problem I'm having with this piece is that I don't get the feeling that she's sitting *on* the dragonfly, and I think it's because she has that white outline separating her from it. What if the outline went around her and the dragonfly? But I understand that you didn't include the dragonfly in the outline because you wanted her to be the focus. Oh well. Good work, and keep it up!
OMGoddess this is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. She is PURFECT, her colors and fluffy, her hair EVERYTHING!!! WOW, I cannot tell you how much I love this. I love that you put the dragonfly kinda out of focus so you could see "just her" and still have him in there. And she is TOTALLY HOTT!!! lol. Her toenails and pixiedust are SO amazing and my FAV. color is pink. You have made me one happy girl, your awesome. Thank you SO very, very much Armen!
